Sindy Angel

Operations Coordinator

Sindy is an experienced project coordinator, administrator, and Theatre of the Oppressed practitioner born and raised in Cali, Colombia. Blending keen organizational skills with a passion for social justice, Sindy started the first theatre program in the women’s prison in her hometown. She went on to create a theatre company which offered shows and workshops with and for communities facing complex barriers in South America. Since migrating to Vancouver in 2006, Sindy has done extensive advocacy and outreach work with refugees from all over the world.

Prior to joining the Just Outcomes team, Sindy managed and facilitated community-based programs for multiple organizations including Immigrant Services Society of BC, Rainbow Refugee, and Power of Hope. Sindy was the Co-Artistic Director and Production Manager for Coyuntura 2020, the first International Latinx Theatre Gathering in Canada, and she is a founding member of the Canadian Latinx Theatre Artist Coalition. She is described by her loved ones as being kind, witty, and honest. Sindy loves making people laugh, gardening, dancing Cumbia, and swimming in rivers, lakes, and oceans.
